Here it is. I am finally getting around to that vacation blog. We packed up a bag or two. Or ten.
Got everyone in the van and were on our way.
They watched airplanes from the window.
"What one's ours?"
Brian's parents flew out with us, which meant the kid to adult ratio was in our favor. Myles sat with me on the plane and we jammed.
Phoenix Airport |
It's funny the things you miss. Phoenix driving: carpool lanes and mountains.
And. Oregano's. Yummmm.
Seriously. Best. Dessert. Ever.
I have so much to report I think I will write a three part blog. Otherwise, I've got 95 pictures and approximately 95 witty comments to cram into one gianormous post. Gross.
The first installment will be my random thoughts. A little chaos never hurt anybody. Bear with me as I can get pretty jumpy.
The reason for the trip was my high school reunion. Gulp. 10 years. Seems impossible.
We got dressed up and had a good time. Not going to dwell on this, because. Well. The pictures are all over Facebook. But I'm glad we went. It was also the perfect excuse for a family vacation.
With lots of beer. My dad brewed something like 4 batches of beer for the week. This was Bud Light. Sorry dad:/
She only looks sweet and innocent. |
The boys actually enjoyed Hazel this trip. They only ran away screaming when she tried to give puppy kisses. Finley and Hazel shared toys. Literally.
Kaden's old walker. Finley hated it.
I got to borrow the car to go see some old friends. Staying at my parents' house, borrowing their car and all that was missing to really bring me back to high school was the $20 from Dad's wallet.
We all had babysitters. Perfect:)
Finley didn't understand the time change. This was after we had been up for an hour. Lovely. Didn't get much better all week.
The boys enjoyed their breakfast with Papa Mike. They wanted to read the paper too.
Making faces at Daddy |
I got to borrow my mom's fancy camera (but yet, I don't have any of the pictures I took with it). It looks good on me. Hint. Hint.
We went to the park. Myles might be the tall one after all. It was only 100 degrees that day. Fall in Phoenix:)
My mom asked Kaden if he wanted a mustache. He said, "Yes." She asked if he wanted me to have one too. Kaden thought it was funny. Myles did not. He begged my mom not to do it.
And cried when she did. Poor guy.
He wanted it gone immediately.
We had a Sunday get-together. Kaden and Hazel wanted to help cook.
It was mostly my family. With some of our favorite Phoenix friends. And their iPhones.
Side note. Cardinals won.
My Granny even came. Wouldn't believe that she just had hip surgery.
Another side note. This picture was chosen to be featured here :).
I think Brian enjoyed being in a house with cable. For those that don't know, we don't have cable. And it's awesome. Seriously.
Finley is just as cute in Arizona as he is in Nebraska:)
He learned how to shake his head no. Not sure I am ready for such defiance, thought I had another year until the noes started.
Uncle Winston also came to Arizona to visit. The boys were very excited to see him. They had him up at 5 am everyday so he could read to them and play with them. They were watching out the window when it was time for him to leave. Pouting, they didn't want him to go. Hazel was sad too.
Stay tuned for the second and third installments. And until then, I hope you are enjoying fall.
This picture was not taken in Phoenix. As Phoenix does not know seasons. |
