Sprinkles

Our baby birds are growing up.
They are learning to fly. This little guy flew across the street onto our neighbor's car. As I tried to get close enough he got scared and tried to fly home. Baby birds learning to fly do so with as much grace as a baby learning to walk. He almost flew right into me. Scariest moment of my life.
Scariest moment of this one's life was immediately following this shot. As my dog grew into her instincts. She about had her whole mouth around him. I screamed loud enough that she jumped back and birdie flew-hopped into our flower(less)bed.

We were getting ready to play in the sprinklers
Finley thought Mommy's pizza looked more appetizing than mashed up peas. I... Just... Want... One.. Bite....
He's got party pants. And he's ready to party.
Getting pumped to go out and play in the sprinklers for the. First. Time. Ever!
He wasn't so sure what to think.
He didn't know what to think of the grass either. It tickled his little toesies.

Kaden loves the "sprinkles." He actually thought the water tasted delicious.
Should
be worried?

Memorial Day and Then Some

Our baby birds are starting to look more like birds. They're actually on the verge of being cute. It was Memorial Day and the weather was perfect. And by perfect. I mean. Perfect. I dressed the boys in their red, white and blue gear and we headed out.
I never realized how difficult it is to get a couple of toddlers to take a simple picture. Even Finley had had enough. I am thinking they will be wearing the exact same attire on the 4th of July. Except that Finley will have to borrow Myles's shirt by then.
We spent some time in our driveway before heading to our neighbor Paul's for the real party. Myles was using Will's big boy bike. This is a sweet picture, but what you don't know is that I took it in the middle of the Toddler Bike War. They apparently don't enjoy sharing at this age.
Kaden had his own idea of fun. He rode his bike off the porch. This is not a good sign. I feel like I will be spending a bit of time in the ER with broken bones and such as these three grow up.
The afternoon was pretty typical filled with activities such as:
Cheetos and apple juice
catching frog
 chasing after frogs yelling, "ribbit!"
Science experiment of why ice melts. It also doubled as a cool and refreshing snack.

bean bag toss.
Mom sat in the chair soaking in as much sun a possible (people tell me I don't look any more tan than I was before, but I know I do)
Dad's job was to man the meat. He did good.

The rest of the week was pretty chill. (Am I cool enough to use that phrase?)
Finley is becoming more mobile and crawling is just around the corner. Not sure I am ready. He did manage to get himself stuck under the chair the other day. This means baby gates will be making their appearance in our house once again.

Those cute little teeth are turning my sweet boy into a crabby baby. But. They make him cuddly too so I will take it:)

Missin my Arizona sunsets. This will have to do until I make it back out.

Finley is thinking,
"What's wrong with this pitcher?"

This bring us to today.
 June 1st.
 And we're all wearing hoodies.
What happened to my Memorial Day weather?

Poop-tastrophe

I was going to write my Memorial Day post today; but then we had a poop-tastic morning and I thought poop story>Memorial Day story. So here goes. My neighbor asked me if my three little devil children would like to join her and her two little angels to a trip to Target. If you know me at all, you know I don't pass up a trip to Target. We agreed we would leave about 10:30. I decided my kids were well enough contained and that I might not get another opportunity to shower. So. I showered. Mistake #1. I get out of the shower and Finley is crying. I run to grab him (in my towel) and even though I can smell the poop I pick him up. Mistake #2. I bring him into my room and set him in his bouncy seat so I can get dressed before changing him. As I am setting him down, I notice his feet are orange. Hmm... That's odd. Then it hit me. Before I tell you what hit me I will back this story up just a bit. You see it was 9:30 and this little lady had the day off. Which can only mean one thing. We were all still in jammies. But. You see. Finley likes to sleep in blanket sleepers, or as we call them, sack pajamas. In order for me to put him in his saucer, I had to unzip him out of his sack and take his feet out. So as I was showering, Finley was playing in the saucer. Wearing not much more than a diaper. Ok. Back to the orange feet. I realized in this moment that the poop I smelled had leaked out of his diaper, all over his side, dripped down his leg and into the bottom of the saucer. Where he stomped all up in it. I also realized in this moment (it was not a good moment for me), that I had poop ALL OVER my towel, on my hands and up my arm. And. I still wasn't dressed. The first thing I did was try to get myself cleaned up (again-glad I showered for this) Then I tackled project clean baby. Too bad they don't make a lysol spray for these situations. I lay him down and start cleaning and he instantly grabs his feet and tries to put them in his mouth. His feet that have poop oozing out between his toes. Gross. I finally get him in the tub and am rinsing him off when I hear something behind me. I turn around and my dear dog is licking up the poop off of Finley's jammies. Gross. We get bathed and dress and up from the basement come Myles. "Mommy, I go poopie in my pants!" (he is still in diapers- which I am thankful for on this day). I get him all changed and what not and as we are getting ready to walk out the door at 10:29 Kaden announces, "Mommy I haffa go pooooooopppppie!" Oye ve!

Basketball

My boys are gonna be basketball stars. Or football stars. Or maybe soccer. One way or another they're gonna be great.
Brian tried to teach Kaden to line up his shot. "Hold the ball in front of your face and concentrate." Most of the time he would literally put it on his eye. Smart boy, just keeping his eye on the ball. And kissing it for good luck.
And then the wind up and pitch. Oh. Wait... Well it went in anyways.
Myles had a slightly different strategy.
It worked like a dream.

Can you see them?

I took Finley to the doctor today. He was crabby and kept pulling at his ear. I figured it was and ear infection. I also figured that if I didn't take hime today, he would need to go tomorrow. When Brian and I are both working. So I was proactive. Turns out he's just teething.
Can you see 'em?

Oh. And BTW. He now weighs exactly 20 pounds.

Camera Shy

I think I freaked all of my Arizona friends out when I posted this.
It was just this crazy, ominous looking cloud. The weird part was the although it looks like a tornado (especially in the picture) it wasn't moving at all. I am very much afraid of tornados and can assure you that if one was that close to my house, I'd be tucked away, not out taking pictures. I also came to the realization that tornados to Arizonans are like scorpions to Mid-Westerners. I once met a guy that talked to me for a good 30 minutes about scorpions and how scary they are.

Well. We survived the storm. The little rain and small amount lightning was all that she wrote.

Finley was a bit drool-ey today. He was also slightly crabby.
There was a half hour or so where he only wanted to stand. On the ground. He wants to be big like his brothers.
I told Kaden, "Give Finley a hug, he doesn't feel good." To which Kaden replied, "I can't give him a hug. Hims got spit on his shirt." Ironically, 3 minutes later Finley actually spit-up all over me.
This was durning the time when Kaden was monologuing about why he NEEDED a piece of candy. He is very persuasive.
They are camera shy. Can you tell?

Hatching and Stuff

Remember this picture? It paints such a peaceful, pleasant scene. I imagined cute little baby birds chirping at their momma for some worms. With their cute little necks outstretched and beaks sticking out over the nest.... This afternoon I remembered Brian had told me that they hatched this weekend. So I grabbed my phone and went out to get a picture. This was actually my second attempt. My first try Momma Bird was very successful in scaring me away. This is what I got:
Ugh. Gross. Gag.
All I am saying is that my kids are lucky they didn't come out looking like that or I think I would have run away from the hospital screaming. I purposely made this picture small to spare you all. However, I can assure you all that they are alive. And creepy. I mean well.

I promise if you stay with me, you will be rewarded with some cuteness.

This is a random picture post. Pictures that never made any other posts. Until now. Some are old. Some are new.

Mischievousness
I guess it was time for Finley to get up. And play (yes. Myles was jumping on the bed).
They were loading up their "car" to drive to Granny's. They needed everything. Including, but not limited to, a wagon, chairs, a kleenex box, some mail and a wedding picture.

Togetherness
Best.
Buddies.

Just Plain Cuteness
He's cute, and he knows it
I propped him up and he kept wanting to sit up on his own. What he didn't realize is he's not quite strong enough. I mean. He did pretty good for an almost-five-month-old. He did fall over a few times, but. He's no quitter. Nope. He would sit back up and try again.
"Look, Mommy! I did it!"
It's like he is saying, "Hey, Sophie. What's happening? Hey, so, I was thinking if you're up for it later we could do some drooling. Or pooping. Up to you, I game for either. What do you think?"
