This is how it happened, the big boys are playing in the basement and I am pretending I can't hear them yelling at each other. And. Just like magic, Finley went down early for his nap. So. Here I am updating my seemingly forgotten blog. It was never forgotten, just hard to come back after a long break. The stakes feel higher, like this should be a really, really good post because it's so overdue. But. I've decided to forget that and just put some pictures up. Hey, it's a start.
Since we last spoke, some things have changed around the Craig house. First, and probably most importantly Myles is potty trained- yay! Finley is walking, and Kaden is about to start Kindergarten. Everyone seems to be getting bigger.
My belly included.
And yes....
We are thrilled. Kaden knew it from the start. When asked, he'd say, "It's a baby sister, because we don't have one of those yet." He even told his daycare before the ultrasound that it was going to be a girl. A 4 year-old's intuition I suppose.
Our other big addition arrived in December. That was my new fancy big girl camera. We bought it, I used it, and then came the realization that I had no idea how to use such an elaborate piece of equipment. This realization caused quite a bit of heart break and frustration. A couple weeks ago, I finally took a short class. I learned a few tricks, like how to set my camera to high quality. Then Finley and I took off on a short trip to Phoenix. There I was able to use my new skills (otherwise known as correct camera settings) and my new camera. Keep in mind, that I have a lot of learning left to do (don't we all) and hopefully this is just the start for me and my Nikon.
We took Finley to the splash pad, he wasn't sure of it at first...
But warmed up quickly.
I got a chance to catch up with some of my high school friends and their kids. We had so much fun.
My favorite part was meeting baby Easton. He's so cute. And in case you're wondering, Finley was almost the same size as their almost 3 year-olds.
The reason behind the trip was to attend Kylie's baby shower. I didn't have the heart to tell Kaden and Myles that Finley and I were going to Arizona with out them. Brian and I came up with the idea to say that I was going to see cousin Kylie. They immediately asked if they could go to Arizona next time. Those boys of mine won't be outsmarted, I tell ya.
It was fun to have someone to be pregnant with and I'm so excited to meet her little guy. I think boys run in our family.
They weren't happy when Granny stepped outside. Even if she came right back in. |
Just playin' |
We took a trip to the "choo-choo park," which I am trying to keep secret from Kaden and Myles. Kaden saw the pictures and told me he was in the black freight car in the back. "You sure were, bud!" I don't think he'd forgive me if he knew the truth.
Finley's only concern was not losing that cookie. I don't think he ever finished it.
Finley loved being the center of attention. I sure hope he soaked it all in, because in this family, it probably won't happen again.
