I feel like I have been struggling the last couple days. It's as though I have all these creative thoughts and energies and yet can't seem to get them out. Doesn't help that I have zero artistic ability. I have this blog. And my pictures. Both of which I consider to be mediocre at best. I mean, I'm alright but then I go online and look at stuff other people are doing and feel... well... slightly inferior. Today I woke up determined to get out whatever it is I feel the need to get out.
The boys had other plans. You see, I write while they nap, and today they didn't nap. I put them down and grabbed a seat at my computer. Wondering what on earth I was going to write about. I got sucked into the internet, admiring other peoples' creativities, waiting for something spectacular to flow out of me. I realized at some point in my journey that the older boys were not sleeping. As I picked Finley up and yelled at the other two, Finley looked at me and laughed. It was like he knew they were in trouble and he was safe.
Lets just say, it got worse. Finley said with big eyes, "Are those toys for me?!?" As I said, "What is happening to my day!"
This helped me feel better. I've been checking for days and it finally went up today. You see. Not only do I like to write my blog, I like to read others. This one came as a recommendation awhile back. I started following and fell in love. Now that is one creative lady. Kinda makes me sick. But yet I still love her, and her writing. After following her blog, I started following her on instagram. Well. Long story short. She used one of MY pictures on her blog. Her blog that has over 19 thousand followers (I just checked). And even though she got my username wrong (she forgot the "r" in lindsayrcraig), this is my 15 minutes of fame and I am going to soak it up. I am on top of the world. Pretty sure I just won the Pulitzer Prize or something.
I had a rough start, but, Finley finally fell asleep and the big boys are playing nicely (I'm sure) in the basement, and I'm here. Ready to share.
It's been busy. As always. Yet we keep finding making time for the gym. I'm just as surprised as you are. This day I ran a mile in 12 minutes. 3 minutes faster than day 1.
We still enjoy our family walks and trips to the park. This day we walked to where the sidewalk ends.
Look at those best friends.
If you look closely, you can see the red in the little Irishman's hair. If his name had been slightly less Irish sounding, maybe he would have been blonde like his brothers.
Myles and his Tonka. If we were true midwesterners, it would probably be a John Deere.
The other day, as I was leaving for work, It felt like I hit one of our strollers. I got out looked on the passenger side. Nothing. Behind the car. Nothing. Found this directly under the front driver-side tire. Apparently it goes there now.
Sophie is trying to soak up as much sunshine as possible before hibernation.
Finley is our future bookworm. Maybe he'll be a blogger. Just like mom.
Dont forget to check out Kelle Hampton's Blog and my 15 minutes:)
